FAQs

How do I prep for my appointment?

Please arrive with your eyes free of any makeup or makeup residue.
If you wear contacts and think the service may be uncomfortable with them in, please arrive with your glasses.
Try to avoid any beverages with caffeine, as it will make your eyes flutter during the service.
Come prepared, knowing that you will not be able to get your lashes wet for the next 24 hours ( bathe, shower, exercise ).
Arrive 10-15 minutes early if you are a new client so that you can fill out paperwork and have a proper consultation.

How do I care for my new extensions?

Always treat your lashes with gentle care.
Clean your lashes daily with our Xtreme Lash cleanser to rid your eyes of makeup or any excess oil that can affect retention.
DO NOT use cotton rounds, Q tips, or face wipes as they will pull and snag on your extensions.
Brush daily with a lash wand (We will provide you with one)
DO NOT use mascara, it will affect your retention and break down the adhesive.
DO NOT rub, pick, or pull at your lashes.
Try to sleep on your back, and if you can’t, I recommend using a special sleep mask for your lashes.
DO NOT use products around the eye area that contain oil as this will break down the adhesive and cause lash extension loss.
Schedule regular fills to maintain fullness.

Can I have an allergic reaction?

Only 5% of people are allergic to the medical grade adhesive that we use. If you feel like you are extra sensitive and are prone to reactions, then we carry a sensitive formula of adhesive that we can use on you. If you DO have an allergic reaction, contact your physician and take a benadryl in the meantime.

Will lash extensions damage my natural lashes?

No, when lash extensions are applied safely and with correct isolation, no damage occurs.

How long will lash extensions last?

With proper aftercare, lashes can last up to 6 weeks. Since you lose 2-5 natural lashes a day. fills are important if you would like to maintain the look of fullness.

Do you carry different types of lashes and curls?

Yes. At Morning Star Beauty, we carry a range of different curls such as C, D, and L. We also carry lashes that vary in thickness from .12-.18 as well as lengths from size 8-14. During our consultation, we will discuss what will flatter your eye shape the most, and what will suit your daily needs.

Are the fumes from the adhesive safe to breathe in?

Morning Star Beauty is the ONLY facility in Oregon to carry an air purifier that removes and captures particulate matter, cyanoacrylate vapors, and other VOC’s from the air. The air in the room is cleaned and cycled through the purifier every ten minutes. Other facilities may carry air purifiers, however, they do NOT capture cyanoacrylate vapors and VOC’s which is what is in the adhesive that lash technicians use. So because of this device, yes, the air you are breathing in my room is safe.

Can men get lash extensions and skin care services?

Absolutely! The services that I perform are beauty related, and beauty has no gender. I welcome everyone into my studio.

How long do Lash lifts and tints last, and are they suitable for everyone?

Lash lifts will last between 5-6 weeks, lash tints will last between 4-6 weeks. These services are not recommended for everyone because some people are easily irritated with color additives, and unfortunately lash lifts are not suitable for pregnant women.
